ETF Securities - the UK based ETF issuer known mostly for its vast offering of commodities funds – may use its new ETF Exchange platform to offer fixed income funds for the first time. The firm is an ETF only business, and its expansion comes in the face of stiff competition from European banks like BNP Paribas and expanding American asset managers like Vanguard and the newly formed Blackrock Global Investors.

ETF Securities had already announced its intentions to offer equity funds, and is planning to list the US’s first platinum and palladium funds.
